Fork bushings  from SKF

SKF PTFE fork bushings are the maintenance-free solution for demanding applications such as motorcycle forks.

SKF fork bushings combine the mechanical strength of steel with the low friction of a self-lubricating PTFE-based sliding layer. The thin bronze layer in between ensures a firm connection between the supporting and sliding surfaces and improves the dissipation of heat generated during operation. The steel backing is copper-plated to protect the bearings from corrosion.

The PTFE-based sliding surface enables smooth, low-friction operation and ensures a pleasant ride. During a short running phase, there is some transfer of PTFE material from the sliding surface to the mating surface. After the transfer, the characteristic low friction and wear properties of these bushings are achieved
