S-TECH SEPARATING PISTON FOR WP DAMPERS WITH DEFLECTION

To separate oil and nitrogen in the damper, WP uses a plastic separating piston in its shock absorbers
.The original part from WP only uses an O-ring as a seal ex works. This can cause the separating piston to tilt in the housing and consequently break. This can also increase the friction values, which can lead to greater heat build-up and poorer response behavior
The solution is available from S-TECH:
The S-TECH separating pistons have an oil-lubricated Teflon piston ring in addition to the O-ring compared to the OEM separating pistons. This piston ring guides the separating piston cleanly on the housing running surface and thus prevents any tilting. This ensures a long service life and good response behavior
Additionally for the High Volume version:
The S-TECH separating piston in the high volume version is designed so that the piston crown is curved upwards and therefore the nitrogen volume is greater than with the standard separating piston.
As aresult, the compression curve of the nitrogen volume is less progressive and therefore the damping curve is also less progressive depending on the path (the nitrogen pressure acts 1:1 on the shim package)
The separating piston can be installed during a service or tuning without any significant effort
